2027: President Tinubu Appoints Gov. Uzodimma as Renewed Hope Ambassador, Mobilisation Chief
Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Senator Hope Uzodimma, as the "Renewed Hope Ambassador," ahead of the widely anticipated national launch of the Federal Government's Ward Development Programme.
The appointment, announced on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, via a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, positions Governor Uzodimma as the chief political operative for the administration's agenda.
The Mandate: Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation
Under this new and influential role, Governor Uzodimma will effectively serve as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation. His key responsibilities, which take immediate effect, are:
Evangelism of the Agenda: Collaborating with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and his fellow governors to aggressively promote and "evangelise" the Tinubu administration's programmes and policy achievements nationwide.
Party Harmony: Ensuring harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination across all levels of the APC.
Grassroots Support: Leading mobilisation and engagement efforts to boost grassroots support for the administration, particularly through the upcoming Ward Development Programme—a flagship initiative designed to channel micro-projects and livelihood support directly to Nigeria's 8,809 electoral wards.
The Path to 2027
The timing of the appointment, which sees Uzodimma tasked with promoting the administration's "achievements and milestones since 2023," has been interpreted by political analysts as a clear strategic move in the build-up to the 2027 general elections.
The Presidency highlighted several indicators of progress to be promoted by the new Ambassador and his team:

President Tinubu reportedly tasked Uzodimma and his colleagues to ensure that Nigerians are not only aware of but also understand the administration's achievements, thereby reinforcing the core message of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Governor Uzodimma, who has been a staunch supporter of the President, will now work with all APC governors, who the statement also described as "Ambassadors of Hope," to deliver the administration's political messaging effectively at the sub-national level.
